Just a short drive from the city's CBD, the State heritage-listed Picnic Point Parklands provide breathtaking panoramic views eastward to Table Top Mountain and the Lockyer Valley. At night, the glow of Brisbane city lights can be seen from the iconic Picnic Point Lookout, perched high on the crest of the Great Dividing Range.

    Preston Peak Wines is a boutique, family owned winery located just 10 minutes south of Toowoomba, South East Queensland. Established in 1995 their winery produces over 26 different grape varieties, including old favourites such as Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet, along with a range of alternate varieties such as Viognier, Sagrantino, Verdelho, Mataro and Carmenere. Their stunning Cellar Door offers wine tastings, sales and cheese platters from Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 3pm, and functions, conferences and weddings by arrangement.

    Crows Nest Museum

    Crows Nest Folk Museum and Village boasts its very own historic village. A very significant building is 'Carbethon House' built in the 1880s and moved to Crows Nest in 1978 which marked the beginning of the collection of now 21 buildings that make up the village. Being the birthplace of Ray White, it has the original business building on the grounds and also the beautiful old home of Alan White is on display as well.

  • Mt Basalt

    Mt Basalt

    This unique geological and environmental area features rare volcanic formations and a few walking tracks and lookouts with spectacular views. Mount Basalt Reserve is just 19 km south of Millmerran. From Toowoomba, travel south west on the Gore Highway to the town of Millmerran. From there, take the Millmerran-Inglewood Road and turn left onto Kooroongarra Road until you reach the turnoff to Mount Basalt Environmental Park.
